The Liebster Award.

About a month ago I was nominated for the Liebster Award, and as we all know, I love a blogging tag, so I thought it was about time I finally got round to this one!
As usual, there are a couple of rules with this tag:
  • Thank the blogger/bloggers who nominated you.
  • Answer the 11 questions that the blogger gave to you.
  • Nominate at least 5, but no more than 11 bloggers that you think deserve the award.
  • Create 11 original questions for the next nominees to answer.

I was nominated by the lovely Emmie from Unsigned, Me. Here are her questions for me:

1: If you had to choose one dessert, what would it be?
Basically anything with chocolate or salted caramel. I am always partial to a profiterole!

2: What are some of your favourite books and why?
My all time favourite is 'The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak. I've mentioned this before, but it was one of the only books I've read that left me reeling when I'd finished. I feel like it's the most unique book I've ever read and I adore it.
Apart from that I love thrillers like 'The Girl on the Train', and stories with a big twist like 'The Day We Disappeared'.

3: If you were going to write a book, what would it be called and what would it be about?
I think I'd probably end up writing about the Wars of the Roses, or the Tudors. I have a weird fascination with that period of history. I don't really know what I'd call it though, there's so many books on this period that it'd be really tough to make sure I didn't copy any!

4: What's one of the scariest things you've ever done?
There's two answers to this. Personally scary, going to my doctor for help with my mental health was terrifying, but very rewarding. In terms of actually scary, I was terrified when I went up the Eiffel Tower. I've got a massive fear of heights and I hated every second of it haha!

5: As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? Is that still the case?
Originally I wanted to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast, and yes that is definitely still the case. Then I wanted to be a vet, but I didn't want to see animals in pain or have to put them down. Then I thought about being a nurse. To be honest I still have no idea what I want to be.

6: What do you do to relax?
I'm a big fan of Lush baths - if I'm feeling stressed out I just watch YouTube videos in the bath for hours. I also like listening to music; sometimes going for a drive and belting out your favourite tunes is a great cure. Then there's always having an early night with my cats (they're both currently sitting on me and cutting off the circulation to my legs but swings and roundabouts).

7: Which 3 famous people would you invite to dinner and why?
If I can include dead people: James Gandolfini, Anne Boleyn and David Attenborough. James Gandolfini was my favourite actor and The Sopranos remains my favourite tv show of all time, but he famously hated being considered 'famous'. I'd like to be able to just discuss his experiences with him.
Anne Boleyn is just a historical figure who fascinates me, and I'd love to know how much of her downfall she saw coming, and who she thinks is responsible for it.
Attenborough is just a legend - imagine the stories he'd have!
If I can't invite dead people I'd go for Judi Dench for the stories, and Derren Brown for the entertainment.

8: If you could experience any job for a day, what would you choose and why?
I think I'd try something like being a Hollywood director. I feel like it'd be way too stressful for the long-term, but a day of bossing people around and getting to be creative sounds great fun!

9: What's the best decision you ever made?
Marrying my husband.

10: What's something you wish everyone knew about you?
Social situations absolutely wear me out. Even if I'm having the best time ever, I'll need a whole day of solitude afterwards to recover. It can all get too much for me out of nowhere, so if I need to sit outside for fresh air don't worry too much. I just sometimes need to be alone.

11: How are you, honestly?
I'm okay. I have just got over a horrible cold so physically I'm feeling good. Mentally it's two steps forward, one step back, which is better than the other way around! I feel like I'm making progress and feel a bit more in control, but there's still a lot to work on.

I'm now nominating these babes (sorry if you've already done this!):

Here are your questions girls!

1. What is your favourite memory?
2. What's the worst holiday you ever went on? What was so bad about it?
3. You can only use one make up brand ever again, which one do you choose? Why?
4. What is one thing you wish you were better at?
5. Have you ever been in trouble with the law?
6. If you got stuck in a lift with one celebrity, who would you like it to be?
7. If you could time travel to witness one event, which one would you choose? Why?
8. What is the strangest thing you've ever eaten?
9. What do you like and dislike most about where you are from?
