Citrus Cheer Roll-On Body and Massage Oil from Kathleen Natural.*

As you might know, I am a huge skincare fanatic, and I love trying new products whenever I can. When Kathleen Natural asked if I'd like to try their roll-on body and massage oil, I was very intrigued. Promising to hydrate my skin while also delivering a gorgeous scent, could this roll-on deliver?

Ever since I first set eyes on my favourite Disney movie, Beauty and the Beast, I've been daydreaming of owning my own at-home library. Wailana Willow Tree Yoga and Pilates Mat from Jump Up Online.*

I'm 29 this week, which is equally exciting and terrifying. It's also making me rethink my whole lifestyle. I've spent the majority of the last decade being very much a couch potato, but I've recently been (trying to) be a bit more active. I've heard incredible things about yoga from my good friend Jenny, so when I was offered the chance to try out this gorgeous yoga and pilates mat from Jump Up Online, I decided it was more than time to get off the sofa and give it a shot!

The Radhuni - My New Favourite Indian Restaurant.*

Indian food is my absolute favourite cuisine, and I'm always trying to find the perfect restaurant.  There are a few options in Edinburgh but none of them have quite ticked all the boxes for me. So when I was invited to dine at The Radhuni restaurant, I was more than excited. And spoiler alert: I truly believe I've found the best curry in Scotland...

Man Polish - The Moisturiser I'm Stealing From My Husband.

Winter is fast approaching, and with it comes dehydrated, weatherbeaten and dull skin. Not exactly ideal, especially if your skin is already dry to begin with. It's something I find myself trying to ward off every year, but my dear husband with his equally dry skin doesn't ever take care of it. Then I found out about Man Polish - skincare aimed at men, with a built-in glow. I really should have given my husband more of a chance to check it out, but I was too busy thinking about myself...

Seatox Seaweed: Selkie Smooth and Kelp Help - Why You Need Seaweed In Your Beauty Routine.*

While some people lust after the newest eyeshadow palette or have a lipstick collection so large they could open their own Boots store, I am more enamoured with skincare. I love it - from body scrubs to overnight serums, I can't get enough. There's something about having a relaxing bath or taking ten minutes to do a pampering face mask that leaves me feeling much more human. So when Seatox sent me some of their gorgeous, natural seaweed skincare products to play with, I was so excited for the excuse to completely chill out and treat myself!

SoulTree Ayurvedic Kajals: 3000 Years Of Colour.*

I first started experimenting with makeup when I entered high school. My product of choice? Always eyeliners. I even went through a stage of wearing eyeliner without mascara, which I'm sure looked great and not at all bizarre. To date, it's still my favourite product: I'll quite often pop some on even when the rest of my face is bare. SoulTree asked me to try out their Ayurvedic Kajals and I was very excited to give them a whirl!

Getting Mystical with the Folklore Collection: Gin Liqueurs from Stirling Gin.*

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you may have noticed my growing appreciation for gin. I started off not having ever really touched the stuff, and now I'm at a stage where my last gin-related post is my second most-read ever. My husband has also grown to love the stuff, so it's become the spirit of choice in our household. When Stirling Gin asked if I'd like to try their new Folklore Collection of gin liqueurs, it was an obvious yes from me!

The Most Luxurious Bouquet From Appleyard London.*

We rent our home, and it's not my favourite decor ever. There's so much I would change if I could, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to remove the dodgy wallpaper in our living room. It's not the worst, but the whole place is a bit dull. I need a splash of colour in my living situation, and the easiest way to brighten up a room you can't paint is to add the biggest, most beautiful bouquet of flowers you can find - like these beauties from Appleyard London.

Sexual Health Doesn't Need To Be Taboo.*

Recently I wrote a post about a vibrator, and why I think it's okay to be open about sex. It's something almost all adults engage in and enjoy, so why are we so reluctant to talk about it? This is especially true when it comes to the topic of sexual health - and it's about time that changed.

Mental Health Over The Years: Age 13 vs Age 28.

I first started experiencing poor mental health when I was around 13. At the time, a lot of it was brushed off as 'just being a teenager' and not taken very seriously. People assumed it was hormones and that I would grow out of it. It wasn't and I didn't. I've now been living with it for around 15 years, and I thought it might be interesting to see what's changed in my life during that time...

What I Read In August.

I mentioned in an earlier post that this summer I didn't pick up a single book. After my 'What I Read In April' post, I just spent most of my time outdoors rather than engrossed in a book (one blog tour aside!). Once the good weather - and my husband - disappeared in August (this makes it sound like he left me, he was just working) I was back on the reading bandwagon hardcore. So what did I get through?

Things I'd Like To See More Of In Books.

I read quite a lot. There's nothing better than curling up in bed with a good novel and drifting off to a different reality. So I think it's fair to say I've become quite knowledgeable about the usual plot devices, character types and sometimes tired tropes that are in your average novel. That's why, when I saw this idea on Jenny's excellent list of book blog topic ideas, I thought it was about time I had my say on what I wish literature had more of...

Learning To Love Summer.

I am not a summer person. I do not do well with heat, I get bitten by every insect in a ten-mile radius, and my usual hobbies of watching Netflix and napping suddenly make me feel guilty. So I didn't exactly relish the prospect of an extended heatwave this year...

Three Scottish Craft Drinks You Need To Try.

In Scotland, we take our alcohol pretty seriously. The drinks industry here is booming, and there are so many options to choose from. From beer to whisky to gin, there are craft options being produced around the country, offering unique, distinctive flavours and tastes. Craft 56° invited me to join them in Glasgow for a craft gin and rum tasting evening, giving me the opportunity to learn more about three brilliant small, Scottish companies, their processes, and their products.

A Pony Called Steve - Quirky, Cute Bath & Body Products!*

This might sound strange, but in our house, soap is a big deal. Some people like to splash out on fancy bags or indulge themselves with a new outfit, but for me, buying nice bath products is a little luxury that I love. In fact, owning gorgeous-scented soaps is so much of a treat for me that I nearly cried when I realised my husband was using my precious blocks of sudsy delights as a full-body wash in the shower. So I hope you'll understand why I've placed these two little gems from A Pony Called Steve under lock and key, to protect them from the monster I live with...

Is The Vegan Life For You? Nutritional Testing with Healthlabs.com.*

I'm a vegetarian, but my long-term goal is to go completely vegan (although don't worry, I'm not going to judge anyone who doesn't want to do so - my own husband is currently eating hot dogs next to me). For me, it just seems like the right choice. It would be best for my health (even though I'm lactose intolerant I struggle with giving up my beloved cheese - much to the detriment of my stomach), it's best for the animals, and it's best for the environment. However, I have definitely heard my fair share of horror stories about how going vegan has destroyed people's health. While it's true that not everyone will be able to completely cut out meat and dairy products for health reasons, perhaps a few of us just need a bit of help with adapting to a new diet - and that's where Healthlabs.com could help.

Aeyshea Jones Boutique Review - #ShopSmall!*

Over the past few years, my focus for buying people presents has turned away from big shops or *whispers* Amazon, and has instead become squarely focused on buying from independent businesses. I trawl sites like Etsy, Notonthehighstreet and Redbubble for the perfect gift, safe in the knowledge that whatever I buy will not be lining the pockets of Jeff bloody Bezos. I love knowing that my purchase will help support small business and enable artists to continue creating beautiful products. So I've decided I'm going to share a few of my favourites on here, starting with the wonderful Aeyshea Jones Boutique!

10 Things To Put On Your Pre-Holiday Checklist.*

We're currently in the middle of a heatwave which is making life in the UK feel unnaturally summery (seriously, it's 29 degrees here in Scotland, madness!). However, if the weather here isn't enough for you and you're jetting off on a summer holiday soon, there are a few things you'll need to think about before you go. Festival season is in full swing, but I have a confession: I've never been to one. I don't know why, as sitting in a field drinking and listening to music is pretty much my idea of a good time, but perhaps it's the price tags that put me off - I can do that for free! However, there are some festivals that you'd be hard-pressed to replicate in your back garden, and I've picked three that are definitely worth travelling for!

The Dreamiest Subscription Box Ever - Cosy Candles Soy Wax Melts.*

I know it's a bit of a blogging cliché to say you were "super excited!" to work with certain brands, but in this case, I am a walking cliché. Living in a rented house means I'm quite limited in terms of what I can do with the decor, but home accessories are my absolute jam. Give me a throw, some cushions, or more specifically, a billion scented items, and I am one happy camper. So, I may be a stereotype, but I was absolutely overjoyed to receive this package from Cosy Candles!

Awareness Is Not Enough.

TW: suicide

I've been toying with writing a post like this for a long time, but it was only when the lead singer of Frightened Rabbit, Scott Hutchison, was sadly found dead that I felt... I dunno, angry? sad? frustrated? enough to do so. Sadly, since that day around a month ago, there have been further high profile deaths, with both Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain tragically passing away this week. It is becoming clearer every day that awareness of mental health issues is not enough.

Five Home Design Tips for Beginners - with Great Idea Hub.*

I first moved away from my parents when I was 17, but it's only now, over a decade later, that I fully appreciate that my little house I live in with my husband is actually my home. Years of student accommodation and fully-furnished flats have meant that we have had little ability to put our own stamp on things. Now that we live in what is essentially a blank canvas, we have much more freedom, but no idea where to begin. So I put together a little list of tips that might help us - and hopefully you! - when it comes to letting your inner interior designer run riot.

In April I wrote a ridiculously long post about the books I'd read over the previous four months, but don't panic - this is going to be much shorter. Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream Review.*

I've ranted many times about my dry skin, and how hard it is to keep this old face of mine hydrated. I say that winter is bad, as the cold temperatures and terrible weather have my face irritated, but it's not like summer is much better as even a hint of sunshine dries me out to leather-bag status. I am constantly on a quest to find products that will keep my skin feeling soft and looking healthy.

What I've Read Recently.

The Couple Next Door - Shari Lapena

WARNING: This will no doubt be a ridiculously long blog post, sorry in advance!

I really enjoy writing a round-up of what I've read each month, but for some reason the last one I did was for November. I want to get back into it at the end of this month but I also didn't want to not mention the books I've read since then. Turns out I managed to get through a healthy 54 books throughout 2017, surpassing my target of 52. I have set myself the goal of 55 books this year in order to continue with that - but I'm quite far behind...!

Does My Blog Need To Be Useful?

berwick upon tweed bridge

I adore blogs. I love reading them, getting to know the person behind them, learning what makes them tick. They are all beautifully unique and crafted from a place of pure passion. It might seem like running a blog is a case of just having access to a laptop and the internet, but the effort that goes into these babies shouldn't be underestimated. It's a hobby that involves a lot of long hours and a lot of hard work.
