Voujon - Bengali & Indian Cuisine in Edinburgh.* [AD | Gifted]

*I was gifted a meal for two in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own and 100% honest.

As I've mentioned before, I can never resist a curry. Indian food is probably my favourite cuisine ever, and I relish any chance I get to try something new. Therefore, when I was invited to sample something from the menu at Voujon, a Bengali and Indian restaurant in Edinburgh, I took approximately 0.001 seconds to say yes, please!

*I received this book in exchange for a review, all opinions are my own.

I'm very excited to be hosting a spot on the blog tour for Rachel Lynch's newest book, Bitter Edge. Having read some of her DI Kelly Porter series before, I was keen to see how this one compared - and spoiler: it did not disappoint!

Five Reasons To Put Antigua On Your Travel Bucket List.

It's been over a year since I went to Antigua so this may be one of the most overdue posts I've ever written. I really fell in love with the island though and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. Although I'd previously been to the Caribbean (I went to Barbados in 2005) I have to admit that Antigua wasn't really somewhere I'd considered visiting before - but there are a whole host of reasons why you should get it on your travel bucket list ASAP!

Dermaloch - Natural Skincare To Nourish Dry Skin.* [AD | Gifted]

*I was gifted these items in exchange for a review - all opinions are my own and 100% honest.

One of the coolest things about blogging is that I have been lucky enough to work with some smaller brands that create products I truly love, and today's post is all about one of those kinds of brands. As I've mentioned many times before, I have really dry skin and the cold weather of winter is notorious for making that worse. So what a perfect time for these fantastic Dermaloch skincare products to come into my life...

Theatre Review: American Idiot, 10th Anniversary UK Tour, Edinburgh Playhouse.* [AD | Gifted]

*Tickets to this show were gifted to me in exchange for a review, but all opinions are my own. All photography is copyright of American Idiot UK.

I can't remember a time before Green Day were in my consciousness. Having siblings who were 10 and 12 years older than me meant that when their worldwide smash third album, Dookie, came out in 1994, I was quickly familiarised with it. Probably more so than any four year old should be, but that's a different issue. In my own teenage years, Green Day still felt relevant and I still love their music to this day. Therefore, being invited to watch the opening night of the UK touring production of American Idiot at the Edinburgh Playhouse was an offer I could not refuse.

Authentic Italian Cuisine at the Italian Grill, Dundee.* [AD | Gifted]

*I was gifted a meal for two in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own and 100% honest.

I love Italy. I have visited a handful of times and I just love everything about it - the culture, the weather (!), the buildings, the people, and most importantly the food. Italian food is incredible, and I seriously consider moving there just for the cuisine on a regular basis. Luckily for me, the Italian Grill has brought a piece of Italy to Scotland, in the form of their contemporary, friendly restaurant and the authentic Italian cuisine it serves!

Getting Started On My Fitness Journey With Nina Elise Workouts [AD | Gifted].*

*I was sent this workout guide in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own.

I'm kind of nervous to even broach this topic. I already know that posting about fitness and health online, especially as a fat woman, is controversial. There will be people telling me that it's not 'body positive' to want to change yourself, that I am falling victim to diet culture, and that I am not only letting myself down but I am in fact actively part of the problem of fat shaming.

Edinburgh's Hidden Gems: Three Neighbourhoods You Need To Visit.*

*This is a collaborative post. The spending money was gifted by Hotels.com, but all views are my own.

I've lived in Edinburgh my whole life, and yet I never stop discovering new things to love about it. I'm completely biased, but it is my favourite city in the world and I just love showing it off to new people. One of my favourite things about the city is how different areas have distinctive personalities and with so many hotels in Edinburgh to choose from, you're bound to find a corner of the city that will win your heart. With that in mind, I thought I'd share some of my favourite neighbourhoods for you to check out next time you're in Auld Reekie!

A Chatty Update on my Mental Health.

Tonight, I just want to have a chat with you all. No set topics, no fancy photos, and definitely no products to promote. I just want to type and see what happens.

Twenty Something Meltdown's 15 Questions to Ask Yourself.

One of my favourite bloggers in the whole world, Gwennan, recently published a brilliant post detailing fifteen questions to ask yourself in the New Year. The premise is you answer the questions as honestly and as detailed as you can, and then at the end of the year you revisit them and see how your answers have changed. Seeing as I loved the idea (basically anything Gwennan posts is genius) I thought I'd give it a go - so here are my answers to her fifteen questions to ask yourself in the New Year.

Why You Should Consider A Microadventure for Valentine's Day.

It's a month until Valentine's Day, and as we're all aware, time seems to be racing past at an unprecedented rate so it'll be here before you know it. We all have different ways of celebrating the 'most romantic day of the year', but for me, there's one idea that sticks out above all others - a microadventure.

What I've Read Recently.

It's been a while since I did a post about what I've read, and boy oh boy have I found a couple of books I loved since then. As always with me, this might be a long one (I'll try my best to keep it short!) but there are so many good books in here that I promise it's worth it!

Party Perfect Heels from XY London.*

Do you ever wonder how tall people you know online are? I think about this quite often - I always picture people about my height until I meet them. I wonder whether you'd guess my height? I'm short. 5'2" to be exact (there may be a small amount of rounding up in there...). That's why I fell in love with high heels - a love that hasn't always been reciprocated by the shoes.

Self Care: The Practical Update.*

One of my most-read posts on here is about my favourite methods of self care. However, that post is nearly three years old, and as my mental health has recently settled in a more stable place, I have felt more and more like I owe it to myself to think outside of the candle-lit bubble baths, and to take on some more responsible and practical self care goals. I still think it's absolutely crucial to be gentle with yourself when you're struggling or low, but sometimes the things we don't always want to do are the catalyst for bigger changes.

How To Get A Great Night's Sleep.*

I have something to admit - I'm jealous of my cat, Millie. I know that sounds weird, but when I'm desperately trying to get some shut-eye and all I can hear is her snoring away, I wish I was enjoying the 16 hours of sleep she clocks up daily. I've talked before about my issues with sleep, in particular sleep paralysis, and even though I don't experience it too much anymore, I still have chronic nightmares and the most messed-up sleep pattern.

Adventure & Anxiety's Third Birthday!

Tomorrow will be three whole years since my first post here on Adventure & Anxiety. Time flies, right? I started this blog at a low point in my life, depressed over a job that hadn't turned out how I'd imagined and anxious about how little I seemed to be achieving in my life. I had no idea that blogging would introduce me to some of the most wonderful people I've ever known, help me to feel part of a community of talented, hardworking people, or bring some of the most incredible opportunities my way.
