Dermaloch - Natural Skincare To Nourish Dry Skin.* [AD | Gifted]

*I was gifted these items in exchange for a review - all opinions are my own and 100% honest.

One of the coolest things about blogging is that I have been lucky enough to work with some smaller brands that create products I truly love, and today's post is all about one of those kinds of brands. As I've mentioned many times before, I have really dry skin and the cold weather of winter is notorious for making that worse. So what a perfect time for these fantastic Dermaloch skincare products to come into my life...

About The Brand

Dermaloch is a company with over 50 years of combined experience in the skincare world, with formulas that have been tried and tested for over ten years. Their products have a focus on being as natural as possible and aim to help aid the self-healing principles of the skin by providing it with the nutrients it needs. They are suitable for people prone to eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis as well as being vegan-friendly and suitable for those with gluten, nut, soya or dairy allergies.

The Range

There are currently two Dermaloch products for sale, the Rejuvaderm and the Intensive. Rejuvadem is their natural skin moisturiser and comes in a cream formula, while the Intensive is a nourishment spray. Both are suitable for everyday use, with the Intensive spray suitable for anyone over the age of 12 months.

Packaging

The packaging is clean and bright, and I like that it is immediately obvious from the design that these are natural products. The thing I really liked though is that they are almost medicinal-looking. I know that's a strange thing to say, but I do have a point! My husband suffers from eczema, and it is particularly bad when he's offshore on a rig for weeks. However, when I try and offer him most moisturisers he's never interested, insisting that they won't work and are overpriced nonsense (he may have a point on some of them...). This, however, passes his strict testing process and he'd have no qualms about using it which is a huge win in my book!

What's Inside?

Seeing as these are natural, sensitive-skin friendly products, they have a ton of fab ingredients within. The Rejuvaderm contains zeolite which is a powerful anti-oxidant, as well as antibacterial ingredients like castor seed oil and natural moisturisers like jojoba seed oil. The Intensive spray contains ingredients such as tea tree oil (known for antibacterial and antiseptic qualities), vitamin E-rich Sea Buckthorn berry oil, and grape seed oil to help moisturise.

Application

As I mentioned, the Rejuvaderm product is in a standard cream formula, so it is just applied by hand wherever you require it on your body. I am honestly in awe with the application of this product. I've used a lot of moisturisers that I thought sunk in quickly but this is next level. Within seconds, it has absorbed into the skin and there is absolutely no stickiness or greasiness left behind. I've never experienced a moisturiser that sinks in so quickly, it's amazing.

The Intensive formula is a spray that you can just spritz on and leave - you don't need to rub this in which makes it perfect for anyone with painful, sensitive, or infected skin that could be irritated by the motion of applying a cream. For use on the face, they suggest spraying it onto a cotton pad first to give more control and stop you getting it in your eyes! It takes a little longer to soak in than the cream does, but after lots of experimenting the longest it took to fully absorb on my skin was around 90 seconds. Very impressive! The Intensive spray does have a slight scent of tea tree and eucalyptus as they are two of the ingredients. Personally, I love the smell but it doesn't linger more than a couple of minutes anyway.

Results

While I've tested both of these on various areas of the body, I did tend to gravitate towards using the Rejuvaderm mainly as a face and neck moisturiser. I guess because that is the area I worry more about, there was something kind of comforting in using a formula I was familiar with. I really loved this, it's so light and there's no greasiness. It left my skin feeling soft and nourished, and I can't get over how smooth my upper cheeks and forehead feel. These are areas where I tend to get lots of dry patches, but it's as if I've just exfoliated every single day. It almost reminds me of a primer (like Porefessional) in the way it feels, but without any of the harmful ingredients. I really like this and it even passed my 'can I wear makeup over it?' test so I'm happy.

I've been using the Intensive on my arms, elbows, legs, feet and even tested it on my scalp. Having a spray has been so convenient, as trying to moisturise your own back is fairly tough! I love how powerful this stuff is despite it feeling like water on your skin - my usually very dry heels are baby-soft, and my elbows are no longer catching on my woolly jumpers (TMI, sorry). I absolutely loved that you didn't need to rub it in, so convenient and hygienic!

Price

Each of Dermaloch's products retails for £10 for 100ml. I've paid more and I've paid less for skincare products, but I'd be hard-pressed to find any that I have liked quite this much. This feels like a really high-quality item that actually lives up to the claims it makes, as my skin still feels genuinely much more hydrated. I've been using these for about a month and still have well over half of both, so I personally think they're a great price and would repurchase in the future.

Final Thoughts

It's official - I'm a Dermaloch convert. I'm so impressed with the feel of these products on my skin and I've never tried anything that's matched them before. It's quite rare to find natural, gentle skincare that works for a huge variety of skin types and is actually effective, especially for such a decent price. I'm really excited to have found a new set of products that work so well for me and I will definitely be buying these again when I run out.

I know this is slightly irrelevant to a product review but I also thought it was worth mentioning that this company has some of the nicest, most genuinely helpful staff working for them. During all our interactions, they were so careful about ensuring I had enough time to thoroughly test the products and provide an honest and genuine review - I really appreciated that. Thank you, Tom!
